Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove is a picturesque town of approximately 950 people located on the eastern shore of the Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is nestled deep in the heart of Motion Bay, just south (approximately 15 minutes away) of St. John's. The town is approximately 200 years old and is the site of the first hydroelectric generating station (Petty Harbour Generating Station) in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Town would also like to advise residents that water will be
shut off On Thursday December 18, 2014 from approximately
10:00am to 1:00pm. This is to allow for further testing of the
Pressure Reducing Station. Please run your water once
turned back on in the case of discolouration. Thank you.
